Pushing the boundaries of its own yet again, the mightiest V12 of them all, the 812 Superfast is the most powerful and fastest road-going Ferrari ever made.The 812 Superfast is, of course, the replacement for the F12berlinetta that was launched in 2012. With its output boosted to 800 cv, 60 more than the F12berlinetta,the name 812 Superfast claimed a top speed of 211 mph. The 812 Superfast is powered by a new 789-hp 6.5 litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine under its hood, driving the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, offering 800 PS (789 hp) at 8,500 rpm and 718 Nm at 7,000 rpm, with 80% of the torque available from 3,500 rpm. In terms of overall numbers, that’s an improvement over the 770 hp and 705 Nm available from the 6.3 litre V12 unit on the F12tdf. The mill is paired with a F1 DCT seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox that is said offer shorter shifting times, performance figures include a 0-100 km/h time of 2.9 seconds.
The fastback sleekness, a two-box design with a high tail reminiscent designed to guarantee downforce. An active diffuser and aerodynamically shaped body panels help the 812 Superfast slice through the air with minimal drag and on to its heroic maximum velocity. Power steering is now electric, which has allowed Ferrari to fit it with a few tricks – it can talk to the onboard traction and stability systems and adjust steering torque in corners. The brakes are from the LaFerrari which is claimed to stop the 812 5.8 per cent faster than the F12, drag is reduced, downforce is raise and the gearing has been shortened by 6%.
