The next-generation 718 Boxster we’ve been waiting for, released for 2017, along with the 718 Cayman, have grown up, closing the gap between Porsche’s other offerings in terms of exterior styling, performance, and handling. The Boxster are the sequel that continues the 718 era. The new 718 Boxster now gets a turbocharged flat-four cylinder engine, which is big deal considering Porsche hasn’t employed 4-bangers since production of the 912 E ended 40 years ago. Sporting the all new four 2.0 litre engine, with 296bhp, the 718 Boxster capable of hitting 100km/h in a mere 4.9seconds. Up to 350 units of turbocharged horsepower (257 kW),despite a considerable reduction in fuel consumption, you’ll probably get a couple of mpg extra, maybe around 28-30mpg. Affordability has suffered and the base Boxster now starts at £41,739.
The 718 models are reinforced with a snooth-shifting 6-speed manual transmission optimally matched to the respective engine map.The shift throws are sporty and short, resulting a sporty and directly engaging driving experience.The drive becomes even more dynamic in conjunction with the optional Sport Chrono Package: in SPORT and SPORT PLUS mode.Dynamic transmission mounts are also part of the Sport Chrono Package, which minimises the perceptible oscillations and vibrations of the entire drivetrain,in short, it enhances both driving stability and driving comfort.

of the new 718 models is also fully geared for sporty performance.The cluster of three round instruments, with the rev counter positioned in the centre and flanked by a 4.6-inch colour screen, is a characteristic feature.Front and centre is Porsche’s PCM system with a high-res 7-inch touchscreen next to a pair of SD card readers and single CD/DVD drive.
